The death of hyper-text?

DIAGLSF.GIF - 33224 BytesSeel-Telesis® are completing prototyping tests with Navatec on an Internet system which does not use hyper-text links but makes use of locational state functions (Seel-Telesis®-LSF). By using a specially designed mouse cursor a user can click on an html page and link to information on the item at the cursor location. To work, there does not have to be a hyper-link at that point. The system uses knowledge based LS functions to recognise what is at that location and its state. In this context state is pixel arrangement as text, image, tables etc. In the case of text, the user can left-click and the system provides the target text segment in a floating dialogue. The user can then right-click to search for information on that text segment or edit the segment beforehand.

The prototypes for this system are using server end JavaScript to generate the html pages. The standards for html page content are compliant with existing standards so the content can be viewed as normal in any conventional browser. However, the viewing browser which provides this powerful capability has been designed by BrowsaWorks.Com using Seel-Telesis®-VCT components and the specialised mouse cursor is a recent development of Navatec.com and Seel-Telesis® collaboration.

The first commercial products, using this technology, could be launched during 4thQ 2006.
